Cavs Pull One Over Top Dog Celtics

How Did the Cavaliers Pull It Off?

LeBron James was unbelievable against the Boston Celtics. He had 13 assists and 31 points with 11 points just in overtime. Also with the help of Drew Gooden and Zydrunas Ilgauskas, they had won one of the best games of the season. Both teams had played such a great game that they had gone into overtime.

What Went Wrong?

Ray Allen had 29 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds. He was not the only person to help out with the scoring. Kevin Garnett had 19 points and Paul Pierce with 16 points. Boston could have won this game but it had gone wrong for them when they were 69 percent from the free throw line. They had made only 20 out of 29. With LeBron James there, Boston couldn't get a "W."

A Showdown in the West

Why the Dallas Mavericks Won?

Dallas Mavericks had dominated in every aspect of the game except for free throws. San Antonio Spurs were shooting at 79% and Mavs at 73%. Josh Howard from the Mavs had been the scoring leader with 23 points. Dirk Nowitzki had also done good. He had profitted off the mismatches with the Spurs.

Why Did the Spurs Lose?

One of the reasons Spurs lost because Tony Parker had not played his usual game. He had only 7 points and 8 assists. The only good thing he did was that he only had 1 turnover. He did not convert on offense, and he let Mavs' Harris score 18 points, being the second leading scorer for the Mavs. These two teams are very good and might just meet in the playoffs. They are still the top of the West.

NBA 2009 All- Stars Playing in Phoenix

The 2009 All-Stars Game in Phoenix
Commissioner David Stern had made the decision to hold the 2009 All-Stars game in Phoenix, Arizona, the home of the Phoenix Suns. The famous game of talented players will be held on February 15, 2009. This would be the third time playing in Phoenix after 1975 and 1995. With the All-Star game is the 3-Point Shootout, Slam Dunk Competition, and the Rookie Challenge. I think it will be a good choice because Phoenix has a fine Arena for basketball.

What is the All-Star Game?
The All-Star game is a game played between the East and West. The teams consist of talented All-Star players from around the NBA. There is also the Rookie Challenge which is a game where the newcoming rookies play against the once rookies Sophomore. Then there is the Slam Dunk Competition which is players trying to come up with the most creative dunk. Also the 3-Point Shootout is part of the All- Stars Weekend. In the 3-Point Shootout all you have to do is shoot 3 pointers.

The Scorching Suns Playing like a Playoff Contender

Season Starting for the Suns

The Suns had played the Seattle SuperSonics for their opening night on November 1, 2007. Amare Stoudemire had played his third game ever
since his knee surgery, but he still played a fantastic game with 23 points and 11 rebounds.

Steve Nash even had a great game vs. the Seattle SuperSonics. He had 18 points and 12 assists for the win. He had the game clinching 3-pointer. With him in the game it was a certain "W" for the Suns.

Suns NOT Giving 110% for the Loss

The Suns lose to Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers 119-98 at Staple Center in LA. The Lakers did something that they haven't done in a while, PASS. They had moved the ball around, and the team had 24 assists out the whole night. The Suns only having 20 assists, and Steve Nash with only 3 of those 20.

The Laker's bench had helped a lot, but the Suns were having a bad night, and they just didn't have the usual intensity for playing the game. Even though the Suns had lost, they still weren't discouraged for pla
ying the game vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Suns burn LeBron James and the Cavaliers

Coming into Suns Arena after a devastating loss, the Suns were not down and out. They had come to play even without their starting All- Star center Amare Stoudemire. Stoudemire had some soreness in his right knee. They had won the game 103-92.

Steve Nash had scored a season high 30 points and with10 assists. He had helped rally from a 12 point deficit over the Cavs. An underrated forward, Shawn Marion, had a double- double with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Also with the help of Leandro Barbosa and Boris Diaw, they had swept the Cavs off their feet.

LeBron James, with 27 points and 8 assists, still didn't have enough to beat the scorching Suns. The Cavs had an amazing 1st half with the lead of 12 points, but they could hold it all the way through. The Cavs may have better luck next time but for now the Suns had what it took to win and the Cavs didn't.

My picks to Lead the NBA: Celtics, Spurs and Hawks?

The NBA Preseason has already started, and it is going to an amazing, upsetting, topsy turvy year with more new recruits and some senior vets trying to make one last stand before retiring. Just remember that the preseason is just for getting into the season and trying to find your talent. The real stuff starts in October 30, 2007.

The Spurs are Spectacular

Right now the team to watch for is the San Antonio Spurs as they are the returning champs.

Tim Duncan is the Dunkmaster... it is so sweet to see him flying through the air!

The Celtics are Sensational

If I was to pick a real good team right now it would be the Boston Celtics. Their three key players are Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, and Paul Pierce. They are a strong team to make playoffs this year.

Do the Hawks hear harbingers of greatness?

The Atlanta Hawks are a great team right now too. I would say that they are the best team in the preseason yet. They are 7-1 and #1 in their division.

Although they have a lot of great players, they've had a tough time because they are so young. I think that they may just now have enough experience to pull into the playoffs and maybe even take the whole thing.
